Another fantastic bodyboarding coaching weekend with Rob Barber and his team Joe Woodhouse and photographer Aaron Parsons. Excellent coaching by Rob and Joe! Improved on some stuff I’d been getting wrong under their guidance. Thanks Aaron for the great shots and Joe for the water shots. Can’t wait to return, practice makes perfect…and FUN!

I decided I needed to improve my skills and booked on for a weekend course. The day started promptly and there was a nice sized group of about 15 people from beginner to intermediate level split between a couple of trainers. I was in Aidan’s group and we were lucky to be blessed with some small but nice swell which was a good size to learn on. It was great reviewing the basics as well as learning the techniques to do some more advanced manouvers. The course was excellent and the instructors very very good at explaining the moves and positions needed. They were also brilliant at demonstrating seriously cool moves which were inspirational for me and I suspect the rest of the group. The weekend went way too quickly and it wasn’t until I got home I realised how physical the time in the water was as you had too much fun to be tired. There was also some good video footage taken over the 2 days. Also not to forget the team of people who look after booking you in, sorting out wetsuits and rash vests. Everyone one was relaxed, having fun which made you feel great. Lastly there was a free goodie bag with some good DVD’s and a prize of a very nice bodyboard which was given away at the end of the final session. Now all I need is a bit more practice and I’ll be back again for some more instruction.

Me and the lads had a full on long weekend in which we tried a lot of activitys with the Newquay Activity Centre, one of which was body boarding, never done it before but loved it, me and the lads had a great laugh and the instructors was great, recomend it to anyone. Cheers guys
